Hearthside Handmades is also the home of THESE BLOOMING DISHES. This pottery includes dishes, plates, hanging pockets, mirrors and jewelry and is made by Keith and Darlene Fletcher. The pottery is made by pressing wild flowers into clay, firing it, underglazing, glazing and firing again. It comes out looking like a spring meadow that will brighten any room.
The shop also carries other local pottery from the Appalachian area.
Anyone looking for a handmade basket will have not problem finding one from Patti Simmons Creations. From large to small her walnut dyed, muted color baskets would be perfect for that empty spot.
Also featured are homemade jams, jellies and pickles. Handmade herbal soaps, scented candles, greeting cards, hand-carved wooden spoons, wooden boxes and chimes of all sizes. Coke collectors will find a wide variety of coke trays to choose from. Also showcased are hand-painted gemstone pendants with birds and flowers by Bonnie Childers.
Hearthside Handmades was established in 1987. The owners, Keith and Darlene Fletcher, cater to anyone who likes and is looking for local and regional handcrafted works of art.
